In this role, you will be responsible for designing and managing robust, secure, and scalable integrations across systems, with a focus on API design, data flow, and middleware architecture. You will play a key role in enabling seamless communication between front-end applications, backend services, and external platforms. This includes building reliable middleware components, managing secure data transmission, and supporting distributed systems in a modern cloud or hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and SOAP APIs, ensuring efficient and secure data exchange.
• Manage API gateways, enforce version control, and apply best practices for API lifecycle management.
• Implement authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth2, JWT) to ensure secure access and data privacy.
• Work with JSON and XML for data serialization and interchange across systems.
• Develop and support data transformation pipelines, including mapping, filtering, and enrichment of customer data.
• Collaborate with data teams to ensure smooth ETL processes, even if not owning full pipeline development.
• Handle asynchronous processing, distributed transactions, and eventual consistency in large-scale architecture.
• Build fault-tolerant, resilient middleware systems capable of managing concurrent operations and distributed workloads.
• Develop middleware components primarily using Python, with a focus on readability, reliability, and performance.
• Maintain strong version control and collaboration practices via Git and GitHub.
• Integrate and optimize workflows using CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing and deployment.

Requirements

• 3 – 5 years of experience.
• College degree or equivalent.
• Proven experience in API design and system integration.
• Strong understanding of middleware and distributed systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, or microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD tools.
• Solid grasp of data security, including encryption standards for data in transit and at rest.
• Technology agnostic, but proficient in Python and familiarity with relevant frameworks and libraries.
