About the position

As an Intelligence Management Analyst SME for Space Systems at Leidos, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the realm of space-based systems collection and collection management. This role is critical to supporting an Intelligence Community (IC) customer in Northern Virginia. You will leverage your extensive experience in space-based systems collection and collection support, along with a deep understanding of the associated policies and collection processes, to provide valuable insights and assessments. Your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness of collection efforts and the strategic decisions made by senior policymakers, including the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and members of Congress. In this position, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing documents related to policy, budget, acquisition, and operations concerning space-based systems collection. You will develop, edit, and staff various products, such as reports, presentations, and studies, aimed at informing senior leaders and decision-makers. Your expert advice will be sought on issues related to space-based systems collection, supported by thorough analysis and consideration of various responses to complex situations. Additionally, you will support decision-makers and special projects by preparing, producing, and coordinating written products and briefings for senior IC members, military decision-makers, and congressional representatives. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with counterparts across the Intelligence Community will be essential to your success in this role. Your ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with senior leaders will be key in navigating the complexities of the intelligence landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Review documents related to policy, budget, acquisition, and operations for Space-based systems collection and provide assessments of these documents and their impacts to collection efforts.
  • Develop, contribute to, edit, and staff products related to Space-based systems collection for senior policymakers, including reports, talking points, presentations, and studies.
  • Provide expert advice to senior ODNI leaders on issues related to Space-based systems collection, supported by thorough analysis of the situation and appropriate responses.
  • Support decision makers and special projects on Space-based systems collection management issues, including preparation, production, and coordination of written products and briefings for senior IC members, policymakers, military decision makers, and members of Congress.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with counterparts in the field throughout the Intelligence Community.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Space-based systems collection and collection support, with an in-depth understanding of the policies and collection processes associated with that area.
  • Background in SIGINT or Geospatial intelligence collection.
  • TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
  • Typically, a BA degree and 12 - 15 years of prior relevant experience, or a Master's with 10 - 13 years of prior relevant experience, or advanced degrees in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with the Intelligence Community and its components, missions, disciplines, capabilities, and interrelationships.
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills to work effectively with senior leaders from inside and outside the USG.
