About The Position

This position is located with the Directorate of Public Works - Master Planning Division, Fort Campbell, KY. The role involves managing the Fort Campbell Master Plan and coordinating various planning projects to address complex issues related to land use, development proposals, and environmental constraints. The position requires preparing estimates for budgeting and overseeing the development of recommendations for space allocation and road network improvements.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • One year of specialized experience for GS-11 level, including conducting studies for planning, architecture, and engineering for land uses and facilities, and assisting in the formulation of construction cost estimates and economic analysis of projects.
  • One year of specialized experience for GS-12 level, including developing/managing a master plan, evaluating programs and development plans for construction, renovation, and/or improvements of real property facilities, and reviewing engineering project plans for accuracy and completeness.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, community planning, architecture, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience as specified in the job description.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in federal service or military service related to planning or engineering.
  • Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE).

Responsibilities

  • Serve on the staff of the Master Planning Division with responsibility for managing Fort Campbell Master Plan.
  • Divide planning projects into logical components for execution by self or others.
  • Coordinate with customers to develop solutions to complex planning problems related to conflicting factors of land use, development proposals, socioeconomic effects and environmental constraints.
  • Project space and facility requirements to identify deficiencies and oversee the development of recommendations for the equitable allocation of available space.
  • Responsible for planning, engineering, and recommending improvements necessary to maintain a safe, un-congested road net for the Installation.
  • Prepare estimates for use in budgeting to execute planning, engineering and design services.
