About the position

The Interim CFO position at Alvarez and Marsal focuses on providing financial leadership and advisory services to private equity clients, particularly in the Manufacturing, Industrial, and Consumer Packaged Goods sectors. The role involves taking on interim management responsibilities and leading clients through complex financial projects, including restructuring and performance improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive experience in financial management and consulting to enhance the operational performance of portfolio companies.

Responsibilities

• Support Private Equity clientele on a national basis as an Interim CFO.
• Lead organizations through time-sensitive projects such as restructuring, carve-outs, or acquisitions.
• Improve the performance of finance organizations by upgrading staff skills, redesigning processes, or implementing new systems.
• Build budgets, EBITDA forecasts, and cash forecasts to guide executive management decision-making.
• Develop management reporting dashboards to enhance financial visibility.
• Manage international treasury and currency hedging as needed.
• Identify key operational performance drivers and support clients with cash flow forecasting.

Requirements

• Established track record as a CFO for PE-owned businesses with revenues in the $100 million to $1 billion range.
• Deep experience in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Consumer Packaged Goods businesses.
• Prior experience working with private equity backed companies.
• Prior consulting experience in performance improvement or restructuring.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Ten years of previous related financial management roles or consulting experience.

Nice-to-haves

• MBA or other advanced degree or certification (e.g., CPA, CFA).
• Experience with NetSuite and MS Dynamics.
• Existing relationships within the private equity sector.
