Intermediate Budget Analyst

About the position

Amentum is now hiring for a Budget Analyst (Intermediate) position in support of the Field, Lab and Air Integration / Experimentation / Modeling and Risk Reduction (FLAIR) office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and other locations. This project will provide the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Research (C5ISR) Center services to include programmatic/business management services, engineering support services, field engineering, laboratory, logistics, and acquisition / administrative support services to augment FLAIR core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of FLAIR and its associated Managers and customers. This support will be conducted in close coordination with Government project leads within FLAIR.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, advise, and provide technical assistance in preparing budgets.
• Review proposed financial plans for completeness, accuracy, conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
• Seek new ways to improve efficiency and lower costs.
• Employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program trade-offs, and explore alternative funding methods.
• Examine past and current budgets and research economic and financial developments that affect budget expenditures.
• Evaluate budget in terms of organizational priorities and financial resources.
• Assist in preparation and justification of budget requests.
• Analyze accounting records to determine financial resources required to implement program and submit recommendations for budget allocations.
• Recommend approval or disapproval of requests for funds.
• Advise staff on cost analysis.
• Perform various budget functions involving the formulation, justification, and/or execution of budgets for organizations, programs, or projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of working experience.
• Will accept 5 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.
• Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance.
• US Citizenship is required to maintain a SECRET Clearance.

• Experience supporting C5ISR DEVCOM programs.
