About The Position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is looking for an experienced Intern-Continuous Improvement to join our Lincoln, NE organization. We are expanding rapidly and looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help support and shape this organization as we grow. GD-OTS provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With more than 60 years of expertise, GD-OTS designs, develops, manufactures, and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes and fuel tanks. This is a Year-Round Internship located on-site at our facility in Lincoln, NE.

Requirements

• Completed a minimum of 2 years in a Business or Engineering discipline, working towards a BS.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Database, Excel, and Access skills recommended.
• Familiarity with statistics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with 5S events and follow up actions.
• Assist with data entry linked to performance metrics.
• Assist with exploring new data creation for new metrics.
• Create planning and instruction for data collection.
• Utilize skills to sort through data and create macros for analysis.
• Create requisitions to purchase items.
• Some data analysis in Minitab as needed.
• Corrective and/or Preventative Action projects as assigned.
• Assist with updating monthly cost savings metrics and postings.
• Conduct time studies to verify cycle time improvements.
