The purpose of this position is to develop a Co-op to provide implementation, configuration, support and troubleshooting of all hardware, operating systems, applications and policies related to desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices and kiosk machines in the end user environment. This position is part of the Information Technology Systems department, End-User Systems Support group. This person will interface with internal and external end-users to support and maintain end-user computing needs.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at Mississippi State University, The University of Mississippi, Auburn University, University of Alabama, University of Maine, University of North Carolina State, Texas A&M University, University of Miami Ohio, Tennessee Technology University, or any University of TN.
  • Majoring in Information Technology Systems or related field and have completed the freshman year.
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0/4.0 required.
  • Must be a permanent U.S. resident.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in configuring, deploying, patching, and upgrading current desktop operating systems and applications using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or other methods.
  • Perform software application configurations, packaging, deployments, and troubleshooting of software applications for end users.
  • Deploy workstation operating system images, patches and updates, and driver packages per device model and type.
  • Create, assist and support Active Directory Group Policies (GPO), and OUs for workstation objects to control workstation configurations setup, access rights and security.
  • Travel and manage assigned projects as needed by the IT department.
  • Provide in person and remote support of other team members, support engineers and end users.
  • Perform different methods of application packaging and deployment such as in machine and/or user environments, batch file scripting, VBS, AutoIT, Powershell, MSI, and InstallShield.
  • Manage Internet Explorer browsing configuration, security, troubleshooting and browser customizations.
  • Ensure desktop hardware and operating system security, access and controls via Powershell, Active Directory, Remote Desktop Connectivity and Group Policy.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay ranging from $21.00 to $24.00
