About The Position

The Structural Engineering Intern will work as part of a project team, assisting engineers in the design and modification of electrical substations. This role provides an opportunity to apply and expand academic knowledge in structural engineering through hands-on experience in engineering calculations, design specifications, and structural analysis.

Requirements

• Must be graduating in Fall/Winter 2025 or Spring/Summer 2026 with a BSCE or MSCE with a major in Structures from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
• Strong academic background and interest in behavior of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, reinforced concrete design, and foundation design.
• Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong PC skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous internship or co-op experience in an engineering office.
• Knowledge of MathCad, STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Assist in the review of structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
• Support a team of engineers and designers in performing structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment supports, and foundations.
