The Internal Audit Intern will support the Internal Audit team with audit and SOX compliance testing, with an emphasis in information technology processes and controls. The Internal Audit Intern may also assist with departmental continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects. The internship provides valuable exposure to key business and information technology processes and controls and the opportunity to learn and experience the internal audit profession. This position is a full-time opportunity in Summer 2025 with an option to work part time in Fall 2025. *This position is onsite at our headquarters in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in audit plan execution and evaluation of internal controls by evaluating information, documentation, and data to determine compliance with policies and procedures and adequacy of internal controls.
  • Document the testing and results of audit procedures.
  • Assist with departmental continuous improvement opportunities, projects, and other ad hoc requests, including supporting the implementation of an audit, risk and compliance software.
  • Provide support to management on special projects, as applicable.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program with a focus in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or other relevant business discipline.
  • Minimum sophomore status (at least 48 credits completed by June 2025) and in good academic standing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, organized, inquisitive, and have a willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Undergraduate or graduate coursework in progress or completed in: information technology, computer science, or related technical courses.
  • GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Previous work experiences, including a business internship in internal/external or IT audit.
  • Interest in information technology and management information systems.
