The primary role of Internal Audit (IA) is to help protect the assets, reputation, and sustainability of the organization. IA independently assesses the Firm's internal control structure. We provide assurance that 1) financial reporting is reliable, 2) there is compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and 3) the firm's operations are effectively controlled. We assist Management in identifying and commercially managing risks by providing advice in developing control solutions and monitoring the implementation of Management's control measures. IA assists the Firm's Board of Directors' Audit Committee in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities and regularly interacts with the external independent auditors. IA is organized into global teams of business and technology auditors. The ERM Assurance Program Office (ERM APO) is comprised of two main areas; Program Management Office (PMO) and Business Liaison. The PMO is responsible for developing and overseeing the audit program strategy for the Firmwide Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) uplift program, operating a robust governance process, providing reporting on the program's progress, and ensuring appropriate resourcing and training for the relevant auditors. The Business Liaison works closely with stakeholders to support timely delivery of independent validation of key commitments, identifying risks, assessing controls, and conducting continuous monitoring across the program.
