Internet Junior Network Engineer Intern - Summer 2025

About the position

CACI is seeking an IT Network Intern to function as part of a team of engineers responsible for CACI's distributed enterprise network environment in our Chantilly, VA office. This position will be hybrid with the expectation that you be in office 80% of the time so you must live within the local commuting distance (50 miles).

Responsibilities

• Overseeing network installations and implementing solutions with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Configuring and installing network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs, ensuring each device and service is correctly integrated and optimized.
• Conducting thorough tests on network systems, monitoring performance, troubleshooting outages, and working with network architects to optimize the network.
• Ensuring the health and maintenance of both enterprise and development networks, including managing various network hardware (e.g., firewalls, switches, routers).
• Using performance analysis tools to troubleshoot network issues, track data flows, and resolve any disruptions in service or network efficiency.
• Providing support for customer-related technologies, ensuring the infrastructure meets user needs and expectations.

Requirements

• Completing final year of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Basic understanding of network essentials.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• Familiarity with enterprise network concepts: basic knowledge of configuring network routers, switches, firewalls and wireless networks.

Nice-to-haves

• Cisco CCNA or CCNP Certification.
• Knowledge of or experience in SDA, ISE, & DNAC.
• Knowledge of or experience in large-scale network environments.
