About the position

The Interoperability Consultant plays a crucial role in collaborating with provider organizations and ancillary system analysts to develop and understand business and functional interface requirements. This position involves managing connectivity tickets, analyzing provider data, and ensuring compliance with testing and documentation standards. The consultant will also work closely with developers to validate interfaces and remediate issues before activation, ensuring smooth transitions to support post-live interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Provider organizations and downstream ancillary system analysts to understand and develop business and functional interface requirements.
  • Deliver to Provider and receive returned Anthem configuration documents.
  • Submit all applicable connectivity tickets between Provider and Anthem via SNOW.
  • Utilize available tools to analyze Provider data and provide a gap analysis to Provider to further translate business requirements into functional field level specification requirements.
  • Provide project management staff with status reports regarding assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with developer assigned to project to ensure understanding of specifications and ensure deliverables accurate and correctly specified.
  • Identify any outlier testing scenarios and write test plans for quality assurance.
  • Participate with developer on interface validation prior to delivery to downstream systems.
  • Remediate any issues identified by downstream systems and analysts prior to activation.
  • Assure compliance with all testing, documentation, and change management requirements.
  • Monitor post-live interface until transition to support.
  • Participate in team activities as required to develop/modify/enhance standard specifications, processes, or training procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in reading and manipulating HL7, CCDA, Flat Files, and FHIR transactions working with interface engine output.
  • A working knowledge of communication protocols and connectivity such as VPN, SOAP, TLS.
  • Relevant experience in a healthcare setting working with HL7 transaction sets: ADT, VXU, ORM, MDM, SIU.
  • Relevant experience working with flat files.
  • Relevant experience working with CCDA files.
