About the position
The position involves providing high-quality translation services between Kazakh and Russian languages, ensuring that the content, context, and style of the original messages are preserved as much as possible. The translator will be responsible for both simultaneous and consecutive translation, which requires a deep understanding of the languages and the ability to convey meanings accurately. The translator will also be tasked with checking the translations of technical terms and terminology to maintain accuracy throughout the translation process. Identifying and resolving conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors is a critical part of the job, as it ensures that the translations are not only accurate but also culturally appropriate. Furthermore, the role involves researching and translating materials related to country conditions for Kazakh and Russian-speaking asylum seekers, as well as laws, regulations, and articles pertinent to clients from Kazakhstan and Russia. Responsibilities
- Translate messages simultaneously or consecutively into Kazakh or Russian languages, maintaining message content, context, and style as much as possible.
- Listen to speakers' statements to determine meanings and prepare translations.
- Compile terminology and information to be used in translations, including legal terms.
- Refer to reference materials, such as dictionaries, lexicons, encyclopedias, and computerized terminology banks, as needed to ensure translation accuracy.
- Check translations of technical terms and terminology to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout translation revisions.
- Identify and resolve conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors.
- Research and translate country condition materials for Kazakh and Russian speaking asylum seekers.
- Research laws, regulations, and articles for clients from Kazakhstan and Russia.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Arts.
