About the position

The Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio is looking for a full-time Intervention Specialist to work with students in a self-contained classroom setting. This role focuses on supporting middle and high school students with moderate to severe communication, social, medical, and emotional needs. The position requires collaboration with specialized staff and families to provide effective educational services for students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support students with moderate to severe communication, social, medical, and emotional needs.
• Collaborate with multiple staff members and families to create a supportive learning environment.
• Implement alternate assessment academic standards in a self-contained classroom setting.
• Manage classroom behavior and emotional challenges of students.
• Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students as needed.

Requirements

• Candidates must have or be eligible for an Unlimited Substitute Teacher ODE license.
• Experience serving school-aged students with emotional and behavioral issues is strongly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and skill set in a self-contained classroom setting is required.
