About the position

As an Inventory Control Coordinator at Vistar, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and adequacy of our inventories. This position is essential to our operations, ensuring that the flow of products through our distribution process is efficient and meets quality standards. You will be responsible for compiling and maintaining records of the quantity, type, and value of materials, property, equipment, merchandise, or supplies. Your work will directly support our mission to deliver goods effectively across the country. In this role, you will actively engage in counting materials, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posting total inventory records. You will compare inventories to office records, compute figures from records, and verify clerical computations against physical counts of stock. If discrepancies arise, you will investigate and adjust errors in computation. Additionally, you will compile receipts or disbursements of materials and monitor inventory rotations, making recommendations as necessary to optimize our inventory management. Your responsibilities will also include preparing reports such as inventory balances, weekly cycle counts, and production breakdowns. You will review and investigate daily reports to maintain shrink at or below company standards. Furthermore, you will prepare lists of depleted items and recommend surveys of defective or unusable items. This position requires a proactive approach to inventory management and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency in our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts total inventory records.
  • Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records.

  • Compiles receipts or disbursements of materials, equipment, merchandise, or supplies.

  • Maintains shrink at or below company standard.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 1+ years of inventory experience in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to communicate information accurately and apply strong math skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and intermediate general computer skills
  • Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position
  • Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift
  • Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing between 10-35 pounds and generally up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location, throughout shift
  • Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e., cooler, freezer and dry
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
