About The Position

The Inventory Control Manager at Dollar General is responsible for overseeing and managing the overall inventory control processes within the distribution center. This role focuses on ensuring inventory accuracy, analyzing inventory reports, and monitoring the cycle counting program to maintain optimal inventory flow and compliance with operational standards.

Requirements

  • Two years' experience in inventory control systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of distribution center operations preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of customs regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer overall inventory control processes for the distribution center.
  • Maintain and exceed all inventory accuracy goals.
  • Publish reports, analyze data, and track performance by area to identify problems and root causes.
  • Coordinate functions of statistical-based cycle counting and estimated statistical sampling.
  • Ensure data integrity within inventory systems.
  • Check date-sensitive products for expiration and ensure quantities are correct.
  • Schedule and complete cycle counts timely and accurately in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Lead Mid-Year and Year End Inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Monitor and maintain documentation for 'Return to Vendor' products.
  • Develop budget and monitor expenses related to inventory control.
  • Analyze data to determine trends and staffing requirements.
  • Monitor processes for Customs and S.O.P compliance.
  • Ensure timely delivery of imported items to all distribution centers.
