About the position

The University of Michigan Investment Office is seeking an Investment Coordinator to support its investment team in various operational responsibilities across asset classes. This entry-level position involves handling information requests, coordinating responses from multiple teams, and ensuring the completion of tasks related to the management of the university's substantial financial reserves, including its endowment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete subscription documents and obtain authorized signatures.
  • Maintain and audit a database of investment contacts, reports, and support documents.
  • Monitor the flow of information related to investment execution and respond to internal client needs.
  • Act as the main point of contact for investment office personnel and external service providers regarding document management.
  • Coordinate approval of external cash activity and necessary signatures.
  • Meet deadlines and maintain accurate processing of investment operations tasks.
  • Coordinate workflow between teams using database systems and other tools.
  • Analyze internal processes and recommend procedural or policy changes to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • A background in financial services or a combination of education and applicable work experience of at least two years.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong quantitative skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
