About The Position

The IRM Developer Sys Analyst IV (DevOps) position at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is a technical role focused on coordinating release activities within the Information Technology Services (ITS) DevOps team. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited College or University with a degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience working in a software development setting or closely related field.
  • Knowledge of Linux-based systems and Version Control Systems (VCS).
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Jenkins, Ansible, WebSphere, WebLogic, SVN, and the Atlassian Suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, BitBucket).
  • Ability to analyze systems, processes, and procedures to revise and document standards as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate release activities and manage the software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Manage build and deployment systems, ensuring all tasks are verified and completed before and after deployments.
  • Document changes and processes, including recording change approvals and maintaining version control systems.
  • Support developers with environment or version control system (VCS) questions and administrate developer test environments on Linux, Unix, and Windows Server.
  • Utilize monitoring, automation, and SDLC-management tools to ensure applications are functional and contribute to the development of build and deployment tools and scripts.
  • Assist with proof-of-concept studies on new technologies and processes, and provide cross-training to team members.
