About the position

The Agile Coach at New Balance is responsible for coaching and mentoring teams and leadership within the organization to drive agile adoption. This role focuses on enhancing agile practices, providing training, and supporting the Agile Program Manager in implementing agile transformations. The Agile Coach will work closely with various teams to improve their agile maturity and facilitate continuous improvement through metrics and feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches and mentors Agile Project Managers, Product Owners, and team members on roles and responsibilities.
  • Supports workshops and training materials targeted to enhancing agile maturity across New Balance.
  • Conducts training sessions when needed.
  • Supports the Agile Program Manager on strategic vision and implementation of agile transformations.
  • Attends and observes agile ceremonies and provides feedback and recommendations regarding enhancements to practices.
  • Promotes relentless improvement opportunities through observation and insights.
  • Assists teams and individuals in developing metrics at the team and product levels and helps to drive learning from the metrics.
  • Coaches teams on varying retrospective approaches to enable broader input and positive changes.
  • Acts as an agile evangelist across organizational boundaries.
  • Coaches teams through team and product level ceremonies.
  • Assists in Agile tool identification, management, and implementation.
  • Participates in industry Agile communities to continuously bring new and engaging ideas to the organization.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years in a Scrum Master, Agile Coach or Product Management role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Technical Field.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Technical acumen and agile trained professional.
  • Agile organizational level coaching experience within an agile framework/methodology.
  • Strong experience with resource/people management.
  • Thorough knowledge and use of agile tools, i.e., Jira, Azure DevOps.
  • Background in agile delivery, project management, engineering, or product management.
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure DevOps or any other agile platform (Rally, VersionOne or any other enterprise platform) preferred.
  • Ability to work across functional groups.
  • Ability to identify gaps and areas of improvement, provide recommendations.
  • Technical education and agile trained certified professional preferred.
  • Scrum certified (or other scaled agile frameworks) preferred.
  • Active involvement in the agile community.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional agile tools beyond Jira and Azure DevOps.
  • Certification in other scaled agile frameworks.
  • Experience in a retail or consumer goods environment.
