About The Position

The IT Application Programmer Analyst at Regional One Health is responsible for the implementation, documentation, training support, design, coding, testing, and maintenance of applications and data interfaces within the Hospital Information System. This role involves working in a multi-vendor environment, utilizing HL7/XML standards, and acting as a functional and/or technical analyst to resolve interface issues and improve system functionality. The analyst will also provide on-call support, ensure interface stability, and collaborate with project managers and vendors for successful application implementations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or management information systems or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience in system programming and interface development.
  • Experience with relational databases, specifically Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL programming.
  • Experience building HL7 interfaces.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for SQL Server processes.
  • Ability to write HL7/XML language within interface engines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems analysis, design, and programming languages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

  • Experience within the healthcare industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, document, and provide training support for applications and data interfaces.
  • Design, code, test, and maintain applications in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Act as a functional and/or technical analyst for interface and advanced system functionality.
  • Research and identify root causes and resolutions for interface issues.
  • Provide recommendations to the Lead Analyst for system improvements.
  • Develop, modify, and test application interfaces to enhance business operations efficiency.
  • Follow operational processes to ensure interface stability and availability.
  • Provide on-call support for interfaces, ensuring 24x7 availability.
  • Test system changes in a test environment and coordinate with IS staff for live environment updates.
  • Communicate application downtime procedures effectively.
  • Work with vendors for the installation of new applications, updates, and upgrades.
  • Coordinate design, development, evaluation, implementation, and monitoring of interface requirements.
  • Ensure quality and security of information transmitted through interfaces.
  • Maintain knowledge of all systems to understand their interface needs.
  • Read and interpret programming languages and scripts, and debug control structures.
  • Monitor interface error logs and queues.
