IT Asset Manager - San Jose

About the position

As an IT Asset Manager at ByteDance, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective IT asset management strategies for the organization. You will work with various departments to evaluate existing asset management processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop and implement innovative solutions to improve asset utilization, reduce costs, and ensure compliance. The IT Asset Management team is tasked with establishing and optimizing strategies, policies, and processes that effectively manage the entire life cycle of IT assets used within the enterprise. This includes all stages from requirement analysis, budget, procurement, deployment, usage, maintenance, to final decommissioning. The goal is to ensure that IT assets are utilized effectively, maximize their value, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and help control costs while improving operational efficiency and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IT asset management strategies aligned with business goals.
• Stay updated on asset management technologies and trends, providing insights and recommendations.
• Design strategies for hardware, software, procurement, logistics, and supply chain management.
• Review existing IT asset management processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Optimize inventory strategy for IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and contracts.
• Analyze asset utilization data to identify underutilized assets and develop optimization plans.
• Develop IT asset budgets and monitor expenditures, providing cost-benefit analysis.
• Participate in purchasing decisions and negotiate contracts with vendors.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and policies related to IT asset management.
• Generate regular asset management reports and provide insights on asset status and utilization.
• Provide IT asset management training to relevant personnel and share best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in IT asset management or related field.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with asset utilization analysis.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for vendor management.
• Ability to develop and implement effective strategies and processes.
• Familiarity with compliance and risk management related to IT assets.
