About The Position

Westerra Credit Union is seeking an IT Support (ITS) Desktop Technician to join our team. The ITS team is dedicated to providing effective resolution of computer hardware and application support issues. This role involves direct tier 1 and desktop support to our internal users, ensuring high productivity. We value a friendly and helpful attitude, especially when assisting non-technical individuals in a technical environment. Excellent punctuality, customer service, and communication skills, along with basic technical knowledge, are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in a technical support role
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Financial institution experience considered a plus
  • Experience with financial applications is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Answer service desk phones and ticket queues as the primary point of contact for the IT department.
  • Support end user technical support of endpoint computer hardware, peripherals, and software.
  • Create detailed service desk requests and work requests to resolution, escalating to other technical teams as necessary.
  • Maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair endpoint computer workstations, printers, and other hardware.
  • Manage assets of all endpoint equipment, including laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and appropriate software licenses.
  • Maintain communication with ticket submitters throughout resolution.
  • Work with appropriate vendors for hardware repairs.
  • Create and maintain procedure and technical documentation related to this role.
  • Demonstrate the Westerra Way Experience and comply with all policies and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
