About the position

Independently develops programs, methodologies and files for analyzing and presenting data. Including but not limited to Visual Studio Development, NPR, Crystal, MS SQL and scripting. SQL Server database administration tasks may be required of the individual. After hours and or on-call responsibilities may be required to assist with SQL issues. Detailed experience designing and creating standard database objects (Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Indexes, Referential Integrity and Cursors). Proficiency using SQL Server Management Studio. Strong knowledge of basic SQL data retrieval and manipulation. Familiarity with standard management and maintenance tasks (making and restoring backups, creating maintenance plans and jobs). Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The IT Integration Engineer works independently to perform data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing customer requests. May include but not limited to analysis, design, document, test, troubleshoot, coordinate implementation, and provide technical support HL7 interfaces between Health Information Systems (HIS) and ancillary application systems. SFTP support and set up may also be required. After hours and or on-call responsibilities may be required to assist with HL7 and SFTP issues. Works on multiple project requests simultaneously. Leads system/application testing along with the end users while working alongside the PMO Office if applicable. When required, leads a team on assigned projects and orchestrates the efforts between IT, end users and the vendor. Will need to provide necessary updates to the PMO Office. Use and support applications and analytical tools; evaluate data quality, applications and functions and produce output and maintain operations. This staff member will be responsible for all aspects of the current software in use and be able to provide guidance and assistance in the proper use of this software. After hours and or on-call responsibilities may be required to assist with application issues. Research new data sources and analytical tools; contribute to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation. Develop awareness and familiarity with issues and events affecting our customers. In addition, perform process improvements for all existing and new production workflow. Contribute to a team effort. This individual must be able and willing to communicate and provide assistance to all hospital associates as it relates to the hospital operations. The incumbent will perform the duties of a department liaison if needed.

Requirements

  • Six years programming, analysis, or vendor provided software support experience.
  • Microsoft SQL relational database experience preferred.
  • Two years HL7 Interface Engine Support.
  • Demonstrate written and oral communications and educational skills.
  • Knowledge of computer programming practices and system analysis.
  • Ability to present design concepts and system functions clearly.
  • Demonstrate project management skills for multiple complex projects.
  • Lead or supervisory experience.
  • Interpersonal skills for conducting training and meetings.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships.
  • Experience with report writing/programming tools (Meditech NPR, SQL, Visual Studio Development, Polaris preferred).
  • Previous experience working in health care is highly desirable.
  • Training and Education skills for teaching IT concepts.
  • Familiar with the JCAHO survey process and IT regulations.
