The Senior Manager of Infrastructure Operations & Security is responsible for leading the secure operation of IT systems and infrastructure within a pharmaceutical company. This role involves planning, implementing, and managing IT projects and policies to align with business goals and compliance standards. The position requires collaboration with various departments to develop cost-effective technology solutions and ensure the smooth functioning of IT operations.

  • Lead the smooth and secure operation of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the organization.
  • Provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department.
  • Identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions.
  • Define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist with incident response and participate in compliance assessment audits.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts and service level agreements.
  • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for IT infrastructure improvement.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending.
  • Prepare regular reports on operations and infrastructure systems.
  • Conduct regular in-house security reviews for enterprise systems.
  • Oversee provisioning of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry and working knowledge of Good Manufacturing processes (GMP) and Computer Systems Validation (CSV).
  • Demonstrated management skills and understanding of project management lifecycle.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Hands-on security experience with computer hardware/software systems and data center management.
  • Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required.
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience interfacing and communicating with Executives in relation to Information Technology projects.
  • Understanding of IT portfolio management and evaluating project criteria on ROI, strategic alignment, cost savings and suitability.
  • Hybrid work environment (3 days in office)
