About the position

The SCIS Senior Data Engineer at Martin-Brower Company LLC is responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources. This role involves providing operational support for production ETL/ELT pipelines, guiding other Data Engineers, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires strong collaboration with IT contacts, supply chain partners, and business end users to ensure data governance and compliance with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using Azure and/or Snowflake.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
• Provide operational support for production ETL/ELT pipelines and related processes.
• Facilitate production deployment of Data Engineering code/pipelines.
• Provide guidance to other Data Engineers on the team, ensuring the team's standard development process is understood and enforced.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, quality, and scalability of Data Engineering solutions.
• Establish strong partnerships with key IT contacts, supply chain partners, external vendors, and business end users.
• Participate in global data governance processes to ensure data is managed and used consistently and complies with enterprise standards.
• Participate in strategic planning and execution for global projects as appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4 years of experience as a Data/Software Engineer or related occupation.
• ETL/ELT Development experience.
• SQL knowledge of relational databases.
• Proficiency in Performance Tuning, including optimizing ETL/ELT code and databases for performance.
• Experience in maintaining Data Quality through validations, data cleansing, and testing processes.
• Ability to understand data requirements and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
