About the position

The IT Security Lead is responsible for overseeing the information security and IT risk management processes within the organization. This role focuses on ensuring security, performance, and reliability while aligning with applicable state and federal security standards and regulations. The IT Security Lead will develop and present information security architecture policies, standards, and procedures, and monitor IT environments for compliance. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to guide security direction and enhance information security capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform reviews of proposed changes and projects to ensure alignment with state and federal security standards and regulations.
• Develop, utilize, and present information security architecture policies, standards, and procedures.
• Monitor IT environments for compliance with information security architecture policies and standards.
• Provide input and guide security direction for future designs and strategic technology alternatives.
• Collaborate with personnel at all levels of management and external entities to explain and lead security measures.
• Break down complex technical terms into everyday language for effective communication.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and acquire new skills to meet customer needs.

Requirements

• Experience in industry or state information security and IT risk management.
• Significant experience with Information Security Frameworks like NIST-800 series and Cybersecurity Framework, COBIT.
• Substantial technical experience in at least two security areas such as Cloud-based technologies, Identity & Access Management, Vulnerability Management, firewalls, computer forensic techniques, databases, collaboration tools, web & mail services.
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and work with a broad cross-section of personnel.
