About the position

The IT Support Specialist Tier 1 at Ohio Transmission Corporation is responsible for providing high-quality customer service to internal associates by assisting them with troubleshooting various IT-related issues, including computer, mobile device, and printer problems. This role involves engaging with users through multiple channels and ensuring effective resolution of technical issues while maintaining accurate records in the company's ticketing system.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for all Information Technology products and services, including answering questions and troubleshooting problems.
• Identify, diagnose, and effectively resolve technical issues both locally and remotely via phone, chat, ticket, or email.
• Record information in the company's ticketing system and update Support Desk tickets with appropriate entries of activity.
• Close tickets with resolution upon completion.
• Resolve Tier 1 Support Desk tickets and elevate more complex issues to the Tier 2 support group.
• Configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, and decommission end user IT-related equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Perform other duties as outlined by management.

Requirements

• An associate degree in a technology field or 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• A+ certification.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Expertise and training in providing technical support.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and handle interruptions.
• Demonstrated integrity, ingenuity, and inventiveness in task performance.
• Ability to adapt to and learn new technologies independently.
• Possess positive, professional interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Network+ / Security+ / ITIL Foundation Certification are a plus.
