About the position

The IT Support Specialist at F&S Produce West LLC is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to employees, ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure and systems. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining network infrastructure, and collaborating with remote IT teams to deliver effective support across various locations. The position emphasizes user support, IT infrastructure maintenance, and the development of IT policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and effective technical assistance to employees, resolving issues related to hardware, software, email, networks, and telephony.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve computer and peripheral problems, including hardware and software malfunctions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals.
  • Provide user training and support on company-approved applications and systems.
  • Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor server performance and health, addressing any issues as needed.
  • Assist with the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT SOPs, policies and procedures.
  • Support and troubleshoot RF wireless barcode scanners, ensuring reliable connectivity and optimal performance across the company's facilities.
  • Collaborate with remote IT teams to provide support to other locations across different time zones.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including hardware, software, networks, servers, and telephony.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Experience with common operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and applications.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ERP systems a plus.
  • Certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+) a plus.
