About the position

The IT Support Specialist will play a crucial role in managing technical issues and ensuring the smooth operation of technical systems within the insurance industry. This position involves providing support to both in-office and remote users, handling hardware and software installations, and maintaining IT system security and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving hardware and software issues for both in-office and remote users.
  • Handle installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware including laptops, monitors, printers, VoIP phones, mobile phones, and conferencing equipment.
  • Address and resolve issues related to business software, hardware, and networking systems.
  • Optimize video conferencing for internal and external meetings and occasionally travel to set up conferencing equipment at remote locations.
  • Manage IT inventory and asset management while maintaining IT system security and integrity.
  • Provide support for employees using insurance and financial applications.
  • Handle employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades to align with company growth goals and requirements.
  • Manage user accounts across multiple applications.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends to ensure our systems are current and secure.
  • Assist in evaluating IT systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Address cloud connectivity issues, particularly with AWS.
  • Configure new desktop environments for users and set up mobile devices.
  • Provide training and support to employees on IT solutions, policies, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT support role within the insurance industry
  • Demonstrable expertise in Intune, Microsoft Windows Server, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Active Directory, and Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field
  • Detail oriented certification (e.g. CompTIA A+) is a plus
  • Flexibility to work in shifts or provide on-call support when necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of maintaining professionalism and decorum in all interactions
