About the position

The IT Support Specialist at Ulteig Engineers, Inc. plays a crucial role in managing support escalation requests from the Help Desk and ensuring the smooth operation of end-user devices and systems. This position involves collaborating with a geographically dispersed IT team to deploy, maintain, and support various technologies, including desktop hardware, software applications, and video conferencing systems, while upholding the company's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Ulteig.
  • Ensure compliance with information security policies.
  • Install, maintain, and support end-user technology including computers, printers, phones, and software.
  • Handle Help Desk escalations to provide problem analysis and resolution.
  • Manage workload efficiently and prioritize tasks.
  • Possibly own IT support tools and/or processes.
  • Identify potential system improvements for IT management consideration.
  • Recommend standards for end-user device hygiene and efficiency.
  • Identify user issue trends and escalate as needed.
  • Complete projects and tasks within scope guidelines.
  • Create technical documentation including procedures, standards, and manuals.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization.
  • Provide local IT hands-on support to remote team members.
  • Collaborate with external vendors as necessary.
  • Comply with all company and client safety standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in IT required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Help Desk or IT support.
  • Extensive experience with PC hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity.
  • Experience related to client/server security.
  • Experience with imaging software is a plus.
  • Previous experience in an engineering environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Office365, and computer hardware.
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively using logical analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, time management, customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
