About the position

The IT Support Specialist at F&S Fresh Foods is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to employees, ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure and systems. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining network performance, and collaborating with remote teams to deliver effective IT solutions across various locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and effective technical assistance to employees, resolving issues related to hardware, software, email, networks, and telephony.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve computer and peripheral problems, including hardware and software malfunctions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals.
  • Provide user training and support on company-approved applications and systems.
  • Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor server performance and health, addressing any issues as needed.
  • Assist with the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT SOPs, policies and procedures.
  • Support and troubleshoot RF wireless barcode scanners, ensuring reliable connectivity and optimal performance across the company's facilities.
  • Collaborate with remote IT teams to provide support to other locations across different time zones.
  • Work effectively and independently, taking the initiative to resolve issues without constant supervision.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including hardware, software, networks, servers, and telephony.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Experience with common operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and applications.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with ERP systems a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+) a plus.
