About The Position

The IT Technician at Round Mountain Mine will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining IT systems under the supervision of the IT Supervisor. This role focuses on computer network, database, and systems administration, ensuring that all systems are operational and secure. The incumbent will also engage in technical research and development to foster innovation within the organization.

Requirements

  • Industry certifications and memberships a plus but not necessary
  • Excellent IT, communication, leadership skills
  • Ability to fill multiple roles simultaneously
  • Proven track record of maintaining IT structural integrity
  • Proficient in Microsoft OS (Servers, Desktop, and AD tools) and Microsoft software
  • Familiar with Virtual infrastructure
  • Cisco experience is preferred
  • Ability to manage several projects at one time safely and within budget constraints
  • Ability to manage multiple competing demands for site IT systems and end user requests
  • Working knowledge of solar power systems is preferred
  • Working knowledge of access control and video management systems is preferred
  • General knowledge of mining and the integration of the mining, milling, and maintenance functions
  • Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Requires valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with solar power systems
  • Knowledge of access control and video management systems

Responsibilities

  • Assess infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands
  • Manage daily operations of the IT department
  • Coordinate the needs of in-house IT experts and remote employees, vendors and contractors
  • Protect business data from outside infiltration through encryption, secure data storage and other necessary means
  • Assist with the installation of new hardware and software and help train employees on its use
  • Offer suggestions for possible upgrades and changes within the IT department
  • Manage user accounts
  • Direct involvement with all site departments
  • Punctuality and regular attendance required
  • Embrace new technology and desire to learn
  • Coordinate 24/7 on-call and be capable of providing on-site support at all hours
  • Provide training, support, and growth opportunities for IT crew
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct
  • Work with external partners, including consultants, agencies and vendors
  • Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management
  • Work without risk or harm to self and others.
