About the position

The Jarraff/Mower Operator position at TREES, LLC is a full-time role focused on the safe and effective removal of trees on utility right-of-way. The operator will be responsible for operating various heavy-duty equipment, including tractors and mobile machinery, to perform vegetation management tasks. This role is critical in maintaining the safety and accessibility of utility lines by ensuring that trees and brush do not obstruct them. The operator will work in various weather conditions and terrains, requiring a strong commitment to safety and attention to detail. As a Jarraff/Mower Operator, you will be expected to operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, mowers, and off-road forestry equipment like Jarraff and Kwik Trim. You will also be responsible for transporting equipment to job sites, loading and unloading machinery, and performing maintenance on the equipment to ensure it remains in good working condition. The role involves physical labor, including cutting trees with chainsaws, raking debris, and applying herbicides to manage vegetation effectively. The position requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and maintenance, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Safety is paramount in this role, as you will be working around hazardous equipment and in potentially dangerous conditions. Responsibilities

  • Operates heavy equipment such as skid steers, mowers, and off-road forestry equipment (Jarraff, Kwik Trim, Backyard Lift, and stump grinders).
  • Drives mowing tractor using hand and foot controls, and operates weed whackers/brush cutters.
  • Transports equipment to and from job locations, loading and unloading equipment onto trucks/trailers.
  • Installs and removes gates, fences, and barbed wire.
  • Operates power saws and cuts down trees.
  • Uses chainsaws to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees.
  • Rakes debris and trash from work sites.
  • Gathers brush and feeds it into a wood chipper.
  • Assists senior spray personnel in mixing herbicides in holding tanks.
  • Applies chemical herbicides to right-of-way areas using truck-mounted spray equipment or back-pack sprayers.
  • Services trucks, chippers, and other equipment to maintain cleanliness and mechanical condition.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to obtain Class A CDL within 6 months.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment and ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in vegetation management or utility services.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols in operating heavy machinery.
