Java Developer - Telematics (Bilingual Korean/English)

The role requires collaboration with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality, timely deliverables as a strong hands-on technical member in telematics product development activities. Responsibilities include developing service and client-side code and database scripts that can support high-volume transactions, producing clean, unit-tested, and refactored code, analyzing and troubleshooting production issues, and maintaining knowledge of current production systems and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical design and develop telematics product features using Java/J2EE and Database related technologies.
• Work collaboratively with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality, timely deliverables.
• Develop service and client-side code and database scripts that can support high-volume transactions.
• Produce clean, unit-tested, and refactored code when required.
• Actively analyze and troubleshoot any issues that arise in production and design and develop solutions to fix the reported defects.
• Analyze and report the production issue and ticket trend and provide recommendations.
• Triage and track production issues, troubleshoot activities, create and maintain tickets, and follow up with vendors.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to satisfy customer requests and provide resolution strategies for incoming issues.
• Identify root causes of technical issues in production and document root cause analysis.
• Coordinate root cause analysis, problem management, and facilitate recurring problem management meetings.
• Maintain knowledge and technical expertise of current production systems, best practices, tools, and techniques.
• Identify issues and risks related to the Issue/Incident Management program and take escalation actions as necessary.
• Interact with project teams for new product development, providing insights from technical issues of previous products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant field.
• 7+ years of experience in development and design with Java, J2EE and database technologies, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role supporting and interfacing with management.

Nice-to-haves

• Minimum of 4 years of recent experience in Java and J2EE technologies.
• Experience in J2EE technologies like Spring framework, iBatis/MyBatis or similar ORM framework, REST/SOAP Web Services, Java design patterns, MVC, JMS and Servlets.
• Hands-on experience in databases like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL. Capable of writing complex DB queries and performing SQL analysis and tuning preferred.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) concepts.
• Proficient in deploying applications on J2EE Web/Application servers like JBoss, WebLogic and Tomcat preferred.
• Production incident and issue management experience with strong problem solving and root cause analysis background is required.
• Experience working on complex technical projects in a multi-vendor project environment.
• Experienced in coordinating with other stakeholders and getting the job done.
• Self-driven in completing the task with less/no supervision.
• Flexible in working mode between development and support applications.
• Ability to work as a team and display excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to multi-task and maintain composure.

Benefits

• Salary: $100,000/yr to $140,000/yr
