About The Position

The Java Developer position at a global bank in New York, NY, is a contract role with a strong possibility of extension. Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Application Development - Core Java.
• Knowledge of various streaming frameworks.
• Familiarity with challenges that arise when implementing real-time performant systems.
• Strong familiarity with Rates trading business and quantitative foundation of pricing and risk calculations.
• Experience with system analysis and programming of software applications, focusing on performance and testability of components.
• Familiarity with interest rates products and associated pricing and risk calculations.
• Experience working in a large collaborative environment and generating innovative ideas.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Experience with the Java ecosystem and expert in Java development.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and best DevOps practices.
• Exposure to profiling, debugging, and monitoring tools.
• Ambition to learn aspects of systems supporting real-time interest rate risk calculations.

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of KDB experience.
• Familiarity with Apache Flink, KDB, and Kafka.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to understand functional and operational requirements.
• Design and implement robust and testable code in support of the requirements.
• Develop non-functional features in the system to improve reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of pricing utilities in a streaming environment.
• Migrate trader spreadsheet utilities into Java implementations.
