About The Position

Elizabethtown College's Dining Services Department is currently seeking a full time Jay's Nest Cook. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure quality hot food production and service for the Jay's Nest, a quick service, casual dining experience on campus. This position will work 40 hours per week; Sunday, Tuesday - Thursday 11:00am-7:30pm, Monday 7:30am-4:00pm and off Friday and Saturday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Associate's degree from an accredited culinary institute is preferred
• Two years of food service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Checks in deliveries with vendors to ensure accurate product quality & quantity received
• Finalizes the preparation of the daily special; serves the daily special
• Organizes grab 'n go area and instructs students on production needs for that area
• Operates the cash register as needed
• Tears down, cleans, and sanitizes all stations
• Prepares consistent, high quality hot food items
• Creatively menus and presents foods
• Utilizes knives, cooking utensils, and all kitchen equipment effectively
• Maintains highest levels of safety and sanitation at all times
• Maintains sanitation, production, and equipment records as required
• Maintains optimum station coverage at all times and covers for co-workers breaks
• Trains and works with student personnel
• Attends department meetings and participates in decision-making
• Assists other areas within dining services
• Attends conferences to further education
• Conducts all responsibilities in a safe manner according to regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
