About the position

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is seeking a dedicated Service Assistant to join our Carlsbad team. As a Service Assistant, you will play a crucial role in leading shifts and performing essential operational functions, including inventory management and handling deposits. Our scoop shops are the heart of our mission to create better ice creams and foster community connections. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that our team delivers world-class customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. You will report directly to a Shopkeeper or Shopkeeper Apprentice and will receive specialized training focused on daily operations, coaching Ambassadors, and effective communication with leadership. The ideal candidate will embody the qualities of a Service Assistant, including a full-time presence with availability for nights and weekends, a passion for customer service, and the ability to act as a role model for the team. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to the well-being of your shop team and the community. As a master of daily operations, you will be responsible for delegating tasks and ensuring that shifts run smoothly. Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and perform limited executive functions including inventory management and handling deposits.
  • Act as a coach and role model for the shop team, ensuring exemplary customer service.
  • Train and coach Ambassadors on daily operations and service functions.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership to ensure smooth operations during shifts.
  • Maintain rigorous safety and cleanliness standards in the scoop shop.

Requirements

  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Master's degree preferred but not required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience in team management and operations.
  • Ability to handle cash management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in clinical trials.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
