About the position

The Jr. IT Support Specialist role is an entry-level position focused on providing technical support to clients through phone and email requests. The specialist will assist with client computer rollouts and other IT-related tasks, ensuring a high level of customer service and support in a fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are energetic, self-motivated, and eager to grow their skills in the IT field.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with technical issues via phone, chat, or email.
• Handle incoming phone/email support requests and create accounts.
• Prepare laptops/desktops for installation by the Project Team.
• Open and log trouble tickets to track issues from identification through resolution.
• Manage equipment inventory and incoming/outgoing deliveries.
• Build relationships with end users to identify issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, phones, software, or network connectivity.
• Maintain customer loyalty by serving clients above and beyond their expectations.
• Take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of IT-related concepts and technologies.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Apple OSX.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 2013, 2016, 2019, and Office 365.
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot industry line of business applications.
• Understanding of network fundamentals and TCP/IP.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical problems.
• Ability to document work activities clearly and accurately.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft Windows (5 years preferred).
• Customer service experience (2 years preferred).
