About the position
The Junior Data Scientist at DEFTEC Corporation plays a crucial role in delivering mission-critical solutions through innovative data science and analytics. This position involves contributing to the Political Military - Assisted Decision-Making Team, where the individual will engage in data modeling, evaluation of data outcomes, and optimization of human-computer interfaces. The role requires collaboration with subject matter experts to develop operational requirements and data strategies, while staying updated on advancements in data science and AI.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the activities of the Political Military - Assisted Decision-Making Team.
- Evaluate the outcomes, veracity, and performance of data models.
- Engage with target users to prototype and refine human-computer interfaces for data visualization.
- Specify and apply techniques to clean and format data for use.
- Review and recommend improvements for data cleansing and reformatting techniques.
- Define and refine operational, capability, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop concepts of operation in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Construct data strategies aligned with organizational approaches to data management.
- Stay updated with developments in data science and AI to implement innovative ideas.
- Support the Programme Director and travel to meetings and conferences for up to 30 days per year.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in Data Science, Data Analysis, or a similar role.
- Working knowledge of requirements management tools.
- Knowledge of Capability Development and Management processes.
- Experience in data-focused operations, including Machine Learning (ML) and AI.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models and Computer System of Systems Architectures.
- Experience with data science tools for analytics and visualization.
- Project Management experience and knowledge of Agile methodologies.
