About the position

The Puppy Lodge is seeking a dedicated Kennel Technician to join their team at a new location in Gluckstadt, MS. This full-time position focuses on providing high-quality care for pets, ensuring a safe and calm environment for the animals while upholding the company's reputation for excellence in pet care services. The role requires previous experience in animal care and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect the kennels
• Provide animals with food and water according to the feeding schedule
• Administer medication to animals as directed by veterinarians and vet techs
• Walk and play with the animals
• Assist with bathing and grooming tasks

Requirements

• Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or similar setting is preferred
• Knowledge of animal care practices and basic veterinary procedures
• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed

Nice-to-haves

• Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant certification is a plus
• Experience in pet sitting or dog training is beneficial
