About the position

The Key Account Manager (Outside Sales) at Metrie is responsible for expanding customer relationships and driving sales growth with key strategic accounts. This role focuses on increasing customer lifetime value, generating demand through business development, and delivering insights that enhance the value of Metrie's products and services. The position requires building strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers within channel partners, ensuring that Metrie's brand is effectively represented and that sales targets are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities

  • Grow wallet share and customer lifetime value with key strategic accounts.
  • Drive demand generation through business development and selling downstream with channel partners.
  • Deliver commercial insights that enhance demand for Metrie products and services.
  • Build strong relationships and become a trusted advisor with key influencers and decision makers.
  • Achieve financial and customer targets by driving sales and margin growth.
  • Engage stakeholders to generate interest in Metrie products/services and help Channel Partners convert and service demand.
  • Create and execute strategies to increase sustainable profitability and drive growth of accounts.
  • Act as a brand advocate to drive brand value and awareness among targeted Channel Partners.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual sales results that meet or exceed regional targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in building products, interior finishing, construction, architecture, or related fields.
  • Experience in outside sales and dealing with purchasing agents and senior buyers.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to build rapport with customers.
  • Passion for learning and strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and effective time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in web-based computer systems (SAP, HubSpot, Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Valid driver's license for business travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the interior design or construction industry.
  • Knowledge of Challenger Selling techniques.
