Kitchen Exhaust Technician

About the position

The Kitchen Exhaust Technician position at Cleaning Pros Plus involves cleaning and maintaining kitchen exhaust systems, primarily during night shifts. The role offers on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement through certification, making it suitable for individuals without prior experience. Technicians will be responsible for various tasks related to the setup, cleaning, and maintenance of kitchen exhaust systems, ensuring compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and take down equipment including hanging plastic sheeting and mixing chemicals.
• Pre-scrape greasy buildup from kitchen exhaust systems.
• Pressure wash the interior of kitchen exhaust systems including fans, ducts, and hoods.
• Perform final clean-up in kitchens by wiping down hoods and mopping floors.
• Take digital photographs of all work performed at each job.
• Independently complete work projects with limited supervision.
• Report mechanical deficiencies of customer and/or company equipment to management.
• Maintain cleanliness of company tools, equipment, and vehicles each night.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License with a minimum of 3 years driving experience.
• Personal transportation to and from the office in Merced.
• Good driving record that meets insurance company requirements.
• Ability to drive a full-size company truck pulling a small cargo trailer to job sites.
• Working cell phone to respond promptly to management calls.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
• Dependable and punctual, able to follow instructions.
• Physically fit, able to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, early mornings, and some weekends.
• Ability to work safely in various weather conditions.
• Ability to complete work projects from start to finish with limited supervision.
• Fluency in English for effective communication with customers and team members.
• Quick learner of new procedures related to exhaust cleaning.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pressure washing, janitorial cleaning, or kitchen exhaust hood cleaning experience.
