About the position

The Kitchen Staff at Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is responsible for preparing breakfast and lunch offerings, assisting with serving lines, and participating in catering functions. This entry-level position requires individuals to perform various kitchen tasks, maintain cleanliness, and ensure food safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings and assist with serving lines.
  • Participate in occasional catering functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of foods according to the menu plan and Opaa! recipes.
  • Plan and prep ahead for the next day's menus.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders with proper certification.
  • Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized.
  • Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, including equipment and dishes.
  • Maintain inventory stock organized and practice First In/First Out (FIFO) procedures.
  • Requisition appropriate amounts of food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager.
  • Prepare baked goods as required by the menu plan.
  • Present food to customers in an appealing manner.
  • Batch cook to maintain quality product and excellent food presentation.
  • Serve items with proper serving sizes and utensils.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus.
