About the position

The Knowledge Manager position at Ignite involves supporting divisions and directorates in managing and implementing knowledge management initiatives at White Sands Missile Range, NM. The role focuses on ensuring that content within knowledge databases and websites is current, relevant, and compliant with organizational policies. The Knowledge Manager will also facilitate the implementation of SharePoint across the organization, providing training and support to users, and will serve as the primary knowledge manager for the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to divisions/directorates ensuring their requirements are appropriately implemented as content objects within websites and knowledge databases throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with divisions/directorates to ensure content of the knowledge databases are current, relevant, iterative, and non-duplicative.
  • Ensure that content is in compliance with organizational vision, goals and implementation plan, and approved policies and guidelines.
  • Develop, configure and maintain document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections.
  • Facilitate the implementation of SharePoint across the entire organization, including providing training to users and documentation associated with the structure and function of associated tools.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and translate them into workflows, directory structures and usable templates to organize project pages and standardize procedures.
  • Execute and comply with policy and program guidance governing the implementation and management of Knowledge Management initiatives for the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, coordinate, and support KM activities of sponsors based on overall goals.
  • Propose improvements in policies and practices regarding the development and management of KM systems and tools to ensure scalability and compatibility of all KM systems as part of organizational enterprise long-range plan.
  • Serve as knowledge manager for the agency.

Requirements

  • Must have a combination of 8 years of work experience and college/university education that provided comprehensive knowledge of knowledge management, SharePoint and database concepts.
  • Knowledge of and skill in utilizing and manipulating HTML, DHTML, SharePoint and SharePoint designer, Java, JavaScript, CSS, .NET, SQL, MS-ACCESS pages and various other Web Form Tools.
  • Skill in utilizing and manipulating databases, portal sites, and SharePoint sufficient to create and execute queries, create and update databases and portal sites.
  • Ability to create and maintain SharePoint sites, customized reusable SharePoint elements, out-of-the-box (OOTB) SharePoint customization, customization of content types, document libraries, lists, assign and maintain permissions.
  • Ability to adapt to specialized software and systems, identify and facilitate the implementation of new technology solutions across the organizational enterprise.

Nice-to-haves

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, Business Management, or related knowledge management fields.
