About the position

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Lab and Research Technician 2 to join The Saucerman Laboratory. In addition to conducting experiments, the technician will analyze data using specialized statistical software and compile results for publication. This role also includes assisting with the care and management of small lab animals, which may involve performing specific surgical procedures. The technician will be expected to train and supervise students or volunteers, providing them with guidance on laboratory methods and safety protocols. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's degree
  • Experience: At least 2 years of lab experience which may include student experience. Bachelor's degree in related science will be considered in lieu of experience.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently, with moderate supervision.
