About the position
Environmental Micro Analysis (EMA) is currently seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our team at our Woodland, CA facility. This full-time position is essential for supporting our laboratory operations, which include a variety of tasks related to environmental testing and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry or a related field, as well as a keen attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for a range of duties that are critical to our laboratory's success. These responsibilities include media and sample preparation, sorting and logging samples, conducting specified testing steps under supervision, transcribing results, and performing data entry. Additionally, you will manage inventory control, wash glassware, maintain general laboratory cleanliness, and assist with other tasks as assigned. Your role will be vital in ensuring that our laboratory operates efficiently and meets the high standards expected in environmental microanalysis. Candidates should be self-motivated, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have a solid understanding of aseptic techniques in the laboratory. Familiarity with pesticide residue testing, as well as experience with GC and HPLC instruments, is preferred but not mandatory. The pay range for this position is competitive, ranging from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, and includes a comprehensive benefits package after a brief waiting period.

Requirements
- A BS or BA in Chemistry or a related field (required)
- Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge on pesticide residue testing (preferred)
