About the position
Matrix Drilling Products is looking for a dependable and enthusiastic General Laborer to support daily manufacturing operations. This role involves ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in the workplace while performing various tasks related to material handling and custodial duties. The position is full-time, primarily during the morning shift, and offers opportunities for advancement within the company.
Responsibilities
- Report to work on time and adhere to the work schedule.
- Safely operate cranes, hoists, and powered industrial equipment.
- Load and unload incoming or departing trucks.
- Locate and move material from inventory stock to production area to complete order requirements.
- Return any unused material back to inventory stock with proper labeling and its original inventory location.
- Make shipping boxes and crates to safeguard customer products.
- Perform minor maintenance and grounds repairs.
- Sweep and mop offices, bathrooms, and breakrooms, ensuring cleanliness.
- Sweep and mop shop floors as needed.
- Keep refrigerators stocked with drinks and take out trash daily.
- Clean, dust, and wipe furniture down as needed.
- Wash walls and equipment as necessary.
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an as-needed basis.
- Wash accessible interior and exterior windows and clean blinds when necessary.
- Run floor scrubbers and maintain cleanliness.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- One or more years of related experience in an industrial setting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read and understand technical information along with equipment manual instructions
- Basic math and counting skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Basic carpenter skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
