About the position

The Laundry Aide at Life Care Centers of America is responsible for performing day-to-day laundry services to ensure that the laundry needs of patients are met in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and the standards set by Life Care. This role is crucial in maintaining the hygiene and comfort of patients by ensuring that their clothing and linens are clean and well-maintained. The Laundry Aide will be expected to work independently and make decisions when necessary, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the practices and procedures relevant to a post-acute care facility. The position requires adherence to the company's policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality and compliance, as well as a commitment to maintaining professional relationships with all associates and vendors. In addition to laundry duties, the Laundry Aide will be expected to exhibit excellent customer service skills and maintain a positive attitude towards patients. This includes assisting in the evacuation of patients when necessary and demonstrating dependable attendance. The role requires effective communication and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The Laundry Aide must also be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving intermittently throughout their working hours, while also being able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day laundry functions including collecting, sorting, ironing, folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing laundry.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients when necessary.
  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
  • Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment in daily tasks.
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior health care experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility.
  • Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
  • Proficient in all competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Understanding and adherence to company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
  • Integrity and professionalism in adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct.
