About the position

The position involves ensuring productivity levels are met in line with incoming freight, performing various departmental functions, and operating material handling equipment as needed. The role emphasizes accurate data collection, product evaluation, and adherence to safety policies while fostering a positive department culture and mentoring new associates.

Responsibilities

• Achieve productivity levels to ensure throughput is in line with incoming freight
• Perform accurate and timely data collection
• Operate material handling equipment as needed
• Evaluate product and sort into corresponding categories (As-Is, Liquidator, Scrap)
• Adhere to all company policies including safety rules
• Assist in coordinating proper and efficient product flow
• Maintain QA focus with consistent and accurate documentation
• Engage in department safety initiatives
• Provide customer service and meet department deadlines
• Mentor new associates and lead by example
• Complete additional duties as assigned by manager
• Maintain regular attendance.

Requirements

• Basic mathematic skills including an understanding of geometry for building stable pallets
• Productivity of 100%+ within the last 6 months
• No documented attendance issues within the last 6 months
• Successfully executed Material Handler job duties for the last 6 months (if applicable)
