Automation Engineering is responsible for providing technical support to the manufacturing and logistics buildings at the Frederick Manufacturing Center (FMC). This includes troubleshooting, modifications, and improvements to automation, data management/storage systems, and networks related to process, utility, and support equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced knowledge of electronic theory and its application.
  • Advanced understanding of instrumentation and control loop programming.
  • Subject matter expert within two or more of the following: PLC systems, particularly Rockwell Automation; Distributed control systems, particularly Emerson DeltaV; Control network; Building management systems, particularly Siemens; VFD and motor control systems; IT infrastructure.
  • Advanced understanding of programming concepts.
  • Train engineers in site control systems.
  • Project manager for medium-to-large capital projects.
  • Advanced understanding of data analytics.
  • Understanding of validation principles.
  • Subject matter expert in risk assessment and mitigation.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Engineering or Life Sciences
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Practical working knowledge of PLC systems (Rockwell Automation) or distributed control systems (Emerson DeltaV).

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of industry experience
